Best Practices for Teaching Research Methods in an Online Learning Environment

Session Description
For disciplines such as psychology, research methods is a core content area that is critical for students to master. Teaching research methods presents unique challenges, regardless of the learning environment. In this session, I will discuss best practices for teaching research methods in an online environment. I will discuss key opportunities that online environments present for those teaching this particular subject matter. I will also discuss key challenges involved and strategies for overcoming these challenges. Throughout the presentation, I will discuss my experiences teaching psychology research methods, both in traditional and online environments. Finally, I will provide a list of select resources to aid those teaching research methods in online learning environments.
